Concrete & Steel Protection
Building structures can be complex and have many components requiring protection. Central Systems has the knowledge, experience and expertise to identify the most appropriate solutions in the field of corrosion, water ingress and façade protection.
Central Systems acknowledges that the application of membranes and surface coatings need to not only protect the structure from the elements but improve the aesthetic appeal of your property. By coating facades and other structures, we can completely transform the overall look at the same time as increasing the structural life and integrity of your building.
There are many different types of applications available for protecting concrete and steel depending on the desired long term outcome:
Impregnating octyltriethoxysilane treatments are an effective way to dramatically improve the ability of concrete to repel water, chlorides and carbon without altering the structures appearance and allowing vapour exchange with atmosphere during cyclic heating and cooling.
Flexible Anti-carbonation coatings are used to bridge cracks in concrete substrates preventing the ingress of carbons and chlorides while allowing vapour diffusion. These protection options cater for structures which contain excessive cracking and or cyclic movement while enhancing aesthetic appeal.
Cathodic protection systems use electro-chemical techniques to control the deterioration of steel or concrete. Cathodic Protection based systems are commonly used today to address the major problems resulting from reinforcing corrosion due to carbonation and chloride attack. Solutions using cathodic protection are available to suit every situation and budget using either sacrificial anodes alone or full impressed current systems.
