Concrete Repair & Building Facade Remediation
Concrete repair involves the removal and replacement of damaged or (spalled) concrete and corroded steel reinforcing. Generally, the deterioration of concrete is caused by corrosion to the steel reinforcement in the structure. This corrosion begins initially by cracking in the concrete or an increase in porosity which in turn allows the ingress of water, atmospheric carbon and or chemicals to activate the corrosion process. This corrosion causes the reinforcement to expand forcing the concrete to crack and delaminate.
Central Systems delivers concrete repair services mainly to the commercial, industrial, public infrastructure and resource sectors. This involves commercial buildings, bridge structures, wharves, resource processing assets, swimming pools and generally any concrete structure.
Central Systems have extensive experience in the refurbishment of rendered concrete, block work, brick, stone and steel clad building facades. These works often involve the replacement of specialty renders that are failing as a result of exposure to the elements and or concrete and reinforcing deterioration beneath the façade. These repair solutions often also encompass repairs to external cladding, window seals, steel lintels and flashings.
