BHP engaged Centrals to perform demolition and removal of a number of existing buildings which formed a redundant Sample Lab Facility located within the main OHP at BHP’s Mining Area C.

Stage 1:

  • Conduct Hazardous Materials Survey suitable for demolition
  • Prepare Demolition Plan and associated permits
  • Demolition and removal of built in situ and transportable buildings
  • Removal of all unwanted and redundant electrical, communication/control and mechanical services and infrastructure associated with the sample lab
  • Remediation of any contamination identified
  • Reinstatement of the area

Stage 2:

  • Demolition and disposal of redundant concrete slabs
  • Backfill to final levels and grade to divert surface water run off
  • Replace damaged concrete electrical pit and install mechanical protection bollards
  • Install mechanical protection bollards around existing air compressor and pressure vessel
  • Install windrows around air compressor and re-instate LV parking area
  • Remove redundant septic tanks and leach drains, and reinstate earthworks back to existing levels
