BHP engaged Centrals to perform demolition and removal of a number of existing buildings which formed a redundant Sample Lab Facility located within the main OHP at BHP’s Mining Area C.
Stage 1:
- Conduct Hazardous Materials Survey suitable for demolition
- Prepare Demolition Plan and associated permits
- Demolition and removal of built in situ and transportable buildings
- Removal of all unwanted and redundant electrical, communication/control and mechanical services and infrastructure associated with the sample lab
- Remediation of any contamination identified
- Reinstatement of the area
Stage 2:
- Demolition and disposal of redundant concrete slabs
- Backfill to final levels and grade to divert surface water run off
- Replace damaged concrete electrical pit and install mechanical protection bollards
- Install mechanical protection bollards around existing air compressor and pressure vessel
- Install windrows around air compressor and re-instate LV parking area
- Remove redundant septic tanks and leach drains, and reinstate earthworks back to existing levels
